Teen Service Learning at the Vista Library Orientation

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Vista

Description

Do you need hours for high school requirements, college applications, scholarships, or work experience? Then consider being a Teen Service Learner at the Vista Library!

Help feed children ages 1-18 with the Feeding San Diego initiative. Assist library staff with library programs. Encourage hundreds of patrons to sign-up for the Summer Learning Program, hand out reading prizes, and much more!

The orientation will cover the requirements, duties/responsibilities, and opportunities offered by the Vista Library’s Teen Service Learner program. The Teen Service Learner Program is open to teens ages 13-17 and requires a minimum 40-hour service commitment from each participant (to be fulfilled during the summer of 2026). Scheduling is flexible.

Attendance to the orientation is mandatory for specific Summer Teen Service Learner positions (e.g. Meals Assistant, Summer Desk Attendant, etc.). If you cannot attend or miss the orientation and still want to participate, then please contact the Vista Library for alternate Teen Service Learner opportunities (e.g. Shelver, Materials Maintenance Assistant, etc.).

For more details please contact the Teen Service Learner Coordinator Daniel Aguilar at vistalibrary@sdcounty.ca.gov or call 760-643-5100.
